Our Lady of Victory School offers a vibrant athletic program, with students participating in sports throughout the academic year.

Playing sports for OLOV is a privilege and not a right, meaning that students must be in good academic and disciplinary standing and must commit to attending all practices and games.

The school is a full member of the Greater New Haven Parochial Athletic League (GNHPAL). All OLOV coaches are Virtus trained and emphasize learning fundamental skills, teamwork, and good sportsmanship.

Baseball: In the spring, boys in grade six through eight can compete in baseball as part of a team, called Catholic United, which includes players from several area Catholic schools.

Basketball: In the winter, students in grade four through eight can compete in basketball. In basketball, there are separate teams for boys and girls. OLOV basketball teams take pride in a long tradition of excellence often qualifying for league playoffs and competing in several invitational tournaments.

  • Students in grade four participate at the junior junior-varsity (JJV) level. JJV consists of mostly practices in the beginning of the year and a few games towards the end of the year.

  • Students in grade five and six compete at the junior varsity (JV) level.

  • Students in grade seven and eight compete at the varsity level.

Cheerleading: In the winter, girls in grade five through eight can participate in cheerleading.

Soccer: In the fall, students in grade six through eight can compete on a co-ed soccer team.

Volleyball: In the spring, students in grade six through eight can compete in our co-ed volleyball teams.
