National Honors Society

OLOV students in grades seven and eight can earn membership in National Junior Honor Society by effective demonstration of the five qualities held in high esteem by the society: scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship.

Members of the Our Lady of Victory School chapter of the NJHS participate in a variety of service-related projects for the school and the broader community.

The NJHS and eighth grade students are responsible for the OLOV Garden of Victory, where they plant, tend, and harvest tomatoes, green beans, and sunflower seeds for distribution to the needy through the food pantry at Beacon on the Hill. This project is a joint venture with the parish community to provide fresh produce to those in need.

The NJHS has booths, with raffles and games, at many school and parish events. It uses some of the funds it raises throughout the year to sponsor a needy family at Christmas, providing food, shoes, clothing, and gifts.
