A Note from Mrs. Bartolotta

As we prepare for the excitement of a new year, we reflect on our accomplishments and celebrate all that makes Our Lady of Victory School so special.

The school recently commemorated its first fifty years; the beginning of this academic year marked several milestones in our preparations for the future. Our new media center opened with state-of-the-art equipment, and new electronic white boards have been installed in many of our classrooms. The fine arts lab now provides a dedicated space for art, language, and music classes.

After consulting with parents, we expanded our part-time pre-kindergarten program into a full-day kindergarten preparation program for four year olds. It is a joy to watch these little ones blossom as part of our school and faith community.

We had many reasons to celebrate this year.

  • Our third grade teacher, Mrs. Linda Smith, was honored by the Religious Education Office of the Archdiocese of Hartford with the "Light of the World" award for outstanding work in education and witnessing the faith to young people
  • A Brownie/Daisy troop started at the school, with many girls in kindergarten through third grade joining
  • Many members of our parish and school communities participated in two trivia night fundraisers to support our Guardian Angel Fund, which provides tuition assistance to families in need
  • Our annual Salute to Veterans was featured on the Archdiocese of Hartford Office of Catholic School’s Facebook page
  • Our band continues to grow and has done well at state-level competitions
  • Every student has the opportunity to participate in our annual school play, and we are blessed to have the assistance of local high school drama students
  • Our athletics program continues to expand with more sports and greater student involvement

The many fun-filled events held for our students speak to the dedication and engagement of parents. The Sports Banquet, Father-Daughter Dance, Halloween Party, Book Fairs, and Breakfast with Santa (to name just a few) would not be possible without the hard work of countless volunteers. Know that you are appreciated.

We look forward to many more reasons to celebrate in the coming months. As we continue to build the foundation for a strong future, we remain committed to our mission to educate students in a nurturing environment rich in Catholic tradition and academic excellence.

Thank you for the trust you place in Our Lady of Victory School.

Sincerely,

Ardell Bartolotta
Principal
